BCC (Blind Carbon Copy).
A series of drawings with memory in matter.

BCC is a series of landscape drawings in different colours. The drawings are made with transfer paper in a limited colour palette. The locations are collected through the apps Google Earth or Maps and drawn out of their context. Through the technique of hachurage (shading) volumes and surfaces on the paper are processed and combined to form an 'abstraction' on paper. Graduallay the coloured shapes form an ensemble which once again in a larger group present an even larger 'abstract constellation of colours and shapes’.
The artist selects the locations on the basis of personal memories, travels, current affairs, history, advertising and film, in short, by both personal and collective preferences: conscious or unconscious streaming of stress produced by all sorts of media.
It is essential that the drawings result in a new kind of 'horizontal landscape’: the different locations are equally important and therefore tend to strand in one “ultimate” location:that of man in universe. One location simply cannot look more important than another. They all exist on the same level. They function a as pieces of a mosaic.
For instance a Golf Club in Karachi aligned with Central Park next to Aleppo or Twitter Offices. If, however this were the case, then it would be for completely different reasons:that of a drawing compared to another drawing.
