Black is Van Riet's second exhibition at Galerie Zwart Huis. It is an anthological exhibition that presents work from the last four years. Vanriet made a selection of drawings and paintings in which black, apart from all other colours, is the significant. Most works were previously shown at the exhibition 'Transport' in the Lippisches Landesmuseum in Detmold, Germany and 'Testamenta' in the Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp. Other paintings, newer and also earlier, are shown for the first time. In contrast to most of Van Riet's exhibitions, there is no thematic common ground. The common denominator is the quality of the ensemble.
